Hi, I’m Thais, and if you love meaningful travel, beautifully designed hotels, practical itineraries, or dream of living abroad, you’re in the right place.

After finishing high school, I wasn’t sure what career I wanted to pursue, but I knew I wanted to study abroad. I worked at a hotel, saved for years, and eventually left Brazil to begin a new chapter in Buenos Aires.

It was one of the scariest decisions I’ve ever made. I didn’t know what the future would hold, but I quickly learned that the most rewarding experiences often begin just outside your comfort zone. Taking that leap changed my life forever, and it sparked a journey that continues to this day.

Since then, I’ve had the privilege of living in four countries: Brazil, Argentina, Canada, and the United States, while exploring destinations around the world. Along the way, I’ve learned how to travel smarter, adapt to new cultures, and build a life abroad.

“Travel isn’t always pretty. It isn’t always comfortable. Sometimes it hurts, it even breaks your heart. But that’s okay. The journey changes you; it should change you. It leaves marks on your memory, on your consciousness, on your heart, and on your body. You take something with you. Hopefully, you leave something good behind.”
— Anthony Bourdain

That’s how Four Places Later was born. It is a tribute to every relocation and to the unforgettable memories made.

Every recommendation you’ll find here comes from my own experience. I’ll share what I genuinely loved, what I thought was overrated, and the practical tips I wish I’d known before I went. My hope is that my experiences help you avoid common mistakes, save time, and create trips that are even better than mine.
