The moment we arrived in Kyoto, we noticed the change in pace. Compared to Tokyo, the city feels calmer, slower, more peaceful, and our hotel reflected that perfectly.
One thing you’ll quickly learn about me is that I love staying in thoughtfully designed hotels. For me, a great hotel isn’t just a place to sleep, it’s part of the travel experience. I appreciate beautiful design, great amenities, and those little touches that make a stay feel special.
Hotel Yuraku Kyoyasaka checked every box.

This charming boutique hotel is conveniently located in Kyoto and offers an incredibly personalized experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome. Guests leave their shoes in lockers at the entrance, and the hotel provides comfortable slippers and traditional yukatas to wear during your stay, creating a peaceful and authentic atmosphere.
Our room was spacious, beautifully designed, and featured a private Japanese-style bath, the perfect place to start the day or to unwind after a full day of exploring Kyoto.

Breakfast was another highlight. Each morning, the staff carefully explained every dish as it was freshly prepared by the chef. The menu alternated between traditional Japanese and Western-style breakfasts, and both were exceptional.

As excited as we were to explore Kyoto, we made sure to set aside time to simply enjoy the hotel. It was one of those rare places where slowing down felt just as rewarding as sightseeing, and it became one of our favorite stays in Japan.
